The focus of this blog is on a mindset of our culture that I will call “modernity.” It is the idea that we can use science and technology to solve our problems, and therefore, our lives and the world will get better and better. I am not anti-science or anti-technology, but I also don’t uncritically embrace everything that science does, and every new advance of technology. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, and I’m about to finish a Master’s degree in Theology, and this mixture is reflective of my approach to the issue.
The name of this blog is Latin, and it literally means “this time.” It comes from the quote of Jesus in my tagline, “You know how to interpret the appearance of earth and sky; but why do you not know how to interpret the present time?” (Luke 12:56).
